Growing up in a rapidly expanding town on the plains of the American heartland, I was constantly confronted with visual juxtapositions. New developments and slick advertising displays sprung up alongside the ruins of yesteryear: hand-painted signs and post-war imagery, weathered and rusted. I strive to create work that embodies this sense of duality. I am fascinated by the intersection of past and present, of cultures, of polish and decay. My goal is to create a sense of energy through the implementation of a wide variety of influences.
